Lady's mantle (Alchemilla vulgaris)

Lady's mantle is used internally as an astringent for bleeding (haemostatic) and externally for treating wounds. In folk medicine it is used to treat menopausal complaints (hence "lady's mantle") and as a bath additive for skin diseases. Apart from its astringent effect, lady's mantle is said to have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.

Acetic acid, low concentration

The acetic acid used in bogacare® ear cleanser lowers the pH at the site of application, creating an acidic environment that inhibits the growth of various bacteria and fungi. According to a recent study, acetic acid also destabilises bacterial cell walls and has a destructive effect on biofilms, exactly where antibiotics often fail.

Acetic alumina (aluminium diacetate)

Today, we find aluminium in many foods and personal care products (white flour,

processed cheese, toothpaste, etc.) as well as in various medicines. Acetic acid clay is used in bogacare® ear cleaner, a tried and tested household remedy for sprains, bruises and small wounds. Together with the acetic acid, it acts synergistically against bacteria, inhibits their growth and has a vasoconstrictor effect itself.
